Angry Birds To Partner With Starbucks

 

Angry birds is so popular that it has been downloaded  350 million times.  The best selling mobile game is so hot that it may be heading to a Starbucks near you.

Rovio Vice President Wibe Wagemans said that his company is in talks with the Seattle-based coffee company to set up virtual goods offers and perhaps even digital scoreboards in Starbucks locations.

Starbucks customers playing Angry Birds on their smartphones could soon get access to free content and see their high scores reflected on an electronic leader board if a reported partnership between Starbucks and game creator Rovio Entertainment comes through.

Starbucks, the world’s biggest operator of coffee shops, declined to comment on any talks with Rovio.

“While we are always looking for great partnerships to better meet the needs of our customers, at this time we have no announcements regarding any work with Rovio Entertainment,” the Seattle-based company said in an e-mailed statement.

It won’t be the first time the company has partnered with a retailer if Rovio and Starbucks do arrive at a deal.  Earlier this year, Barnes & Noble customers could get Angry Birds stickers and temporary tattoos in stores for a limited time.
