Apple’s new iPhone to feature 4-inch display

According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is ordering bigger screens for the next generation iPhone. The screens will be 4-inch diagonally, but the width of the phone would not change, instead it would become even taller than iPhone 4S. So in this case, it would not change the way how owners are holding their iPhone. If the width would become wider, then it could be a problem for some owners to hold the iPhone.

Now the new iPhone generation is approaching. The release date of iPhone 5 is one of the hot topics in the cyber world. The iPhone 4S was released in October 2011 so there is a chance that Apple would release iPhone 5 in October again, the same timeframe. Apple is following some release patterns such as releasing iPads in March every year.

The WJS said:

”Apple Inc., which is expected to launch its next-generation iPhone later this year, has ordered screens from its Asian suppliers that are bigger than the ones used in iPhones since they debuted in 2007, people familiar with the situation said.”

Production is set to begin next month for the screens, which measure at least 4 inches diagonally compared with 3.5 inches on the iPhone 4S, the latest phone from Apple, the people said.

According to some rumours, the next-gen iPhone would not have the same design as the iPhone 4 and 4S. It would probably be thinner with a metal rear. If the iPhone would have a metal rear, would you like that? Or do you prefer the same design as iPhone 4S?

Overall, the new iPhone is approaching so there will be more rumours coming until Apple is going to announce the official release date.
