Discover Missed Romantic Connections with Conga

Embarrassing confession: Sometimes, when I see a complete stranger of the opposite sex, I wonder what it would be like if I were to actually converse with him and form a deep relationship with him. I wonder how he’s like, what he does for a living and where he lives. I wonder where he’s headed to, and how his life could be different if I were in it. And then before I know it… He’s already out of my sight. Yes it’s a bit weird, but come on. Admit it. You’ve daydreamed about this at least ONCE.

Ryan Kennedy used this simple idea to create a new kind of social network. “What if it was possible to go back in time, to nearly any moment in life, and reconnect with people around any of the places we’ve ever been?”

Kennedy is the co-founder of Congaa proximity-based social network designed to connect individuals from various social spheres who have or will gather at the same place at the same time. The public beta launched in New York and San Fransisco last Wednesday. Kennedy says that part of the reason why he started Conga is to discover any missed romantic connections. “We go through life and interact with all these people, but how do we tap into relationships with people sitting right next to us? We’re looking to fill that gap.”

Conga works by tapping into the user’s location history via Foursquare and Twitter.

So have you tried Conga? What do you think of it?
