Facebook launches App Center for Android, iOS devices

Facebook is taking Android and iOS devices to the next level by launching an App Center to highlight high-quality social apps.

The Facebook App Center will feature personalized app recommendations based on an individual user’s interests and previous activity. Those app recommendations are based on quality and popularity by user’s ratings.

In an email Facebook revealed:

The App Center is launching tonight with more than 600 social apps, including Nike+ GPS, Ubisoft Ghost Recon Commander, Stitcher Radio, Draw Something, and Pinterest.

Each person will have a personalized experience in the App Center, with recommendations based on the apps they and their friends use, whether that be games or fashion, food, fitness, travel, or other lifestyle app

This feature will be available on mobile via the Facebook apps for iOS, Android or by accessing Facebook.com on mobile. On your computer, there will be a new  ‘Sent to Mobile’ feature so you can send your apps from your computer to your mobile device. If a mobile app requires a download, then you need to install the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Users need to stay tuned for more information, because the various App Center programs will be launched at various times.In this coming weeks, Facebook’s App Center will expand globally in order to connect with its more than 900 million members on mobile gadgets.
