Flipboard App released for Android phones

One of the best apps made for the iPhone and iPad is now available for Android phones: Flipboard and it will be bundled with Samsung’s Galaxy S III.

Flipboard co-founder and CEO Mike McCue told ABC News:  “We looked at the Android device specifically, and all the different screen sizes, and made sure Flipboard would look great on all those different types of phones.”

Flipboard is a popular social news magazine that lets you swipe through blogs, news feeds, Twitter and Facebook like a magazine.  Now Google+ is integrated in Flipboard same as other platforms like Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This all are bundled with the Samsung’s new Galaxy S III phone.

The new feature for Android and iPhone is YouTube integration. This means that you can watch, bookmark and comment on videos within Flipboard. According to Flipboard: ‘’The YouTube experience is similarly transformed as video browsing becomes more like reading a magazine. Flip through your subscriptions, uploads and favorites, or enjoy popular feeds like Most viewed, Trending Videos and Top Favorites.’’

There will be localized versions of the app for Korea, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. Other countries like Japan, France, China and English-speaking countries will join in the future.

The Flipboard app is launching on all Android devices, including the Kindle Fire and the Nook and is available in Google Play, the Amazon Appstore for Android, the Nook Store and in Samsung apps.
