Foursquare Hits 10 Million Users

Two-year-old Foursquare has just reached another milestone today- 10 million users worldwide with average 3 millions check-ins per day.

Now, there are almost half a million brands and companies using this location based service to communicate with customers and over 10 thousand developers are building applications upon its platform.

Based on the statistics in the figure below, there are 358 millions checkins outside the U.S. Ratio of female users to male users is 50/50, which is the same as the ratio of international users to US users.

The company is moving to San Francisco and planning to recruit more staff. Simon Favreau-Lessard from Google, Cooper Bethea from Twitter are newly hired by Foursquare.
