Get Your Taste On with Flavorize

With so many food related web interfaces floating around on the internet, each with massive users and fans, it’s no surprise that food related website is making its grand appearance. Eugene Chou and Franco Yuvienco founders of Flavorize describes their creation as a ‘Pandora for Food.’ Welcome to the world of all things personalized including your favorite tastes. Flavorize does just what many of us want it to do, it personalizes food items of your taste, displaying different restaurants that offer the same kind of food, and more.

All you foodies have to do is sign up, review a few dishes,  and assign taste to each dish that you have tasted, whether it’s crunchy, chewy, sweet, sour, bitter, or spicy. In five reviews, each user will receive their own Flavorize Taste Profile which will act as their pass to receiving information of restaurants, recipes, and dishes that will tickle our taste buds.

Users can begin surfing Flavorize when they are in town and craving for something in a specific area, the application will provide not only the name of restaurants but which dish is recommended for the user based on the Flavorize Taste Profile. The application is currently only available in New York and San Francisco but is planning to move globally as it is seeking for a USD1 million fund from investors. I for one wish Flavorize is available in Singapore, taste based restaurants recommendations is definitely a tool to have.

What other applications are you using to hunt for a restaurant, recipes, and other food related things? Would you be Flavorize’s fan if it reaches Singapore?
