Gmail for Mobile Gets Multiple Sign-in
Gmail has a large storage memory and preferred by many users. Some users have multiple accounts. The problem with using multiple accounts is that you need to log out from one Gmail account to be able to use the other accounts, and this process can be inconvenient and time consuming.
For those that have multiple Gmail accounts, the great news is that you can now sign into multiple accounts simultaneously. Google has released the much requested multiple account sign-in feature for Gmail via mobile browser. Gmail for mobile now comes enabled with Multiple Sign-in and two more useful features.
To sign into an additional account, click on the account switcher at the bottom of the threadlist, then click ”Sign into an another account.” You can quickly switch between accounts by selecting the desired account from the Accounts menu.
However Google’s multiple account sign-in may not be applicable to everyone. Enabling multiple sign-in disables the ability to use Google services like Gmail Calendar while offline, and breaks any bookmarks you have linked to your accounts. Google advises “If you would like to continue using Offline Gmail, Offline Calendar, and browser bookmarks linked to your accounts, do not enable the multiple sign-in option. If you have already enabled multiple sign-in, you may disable it.”
There is also a new option to create a separate signature for your mobile device to let people know that any typos, accidental auto corrections, and grammar errors are the result of typing on your phone. You can create a mobile signature by tapping on the new settings icon, choosing a signature, and activating it.
A new vacation auto-responder will allow you to set up an out-of-office reply from your mobile device in the same options menu as the signature. Simply choose a start and end date and specify your message.
With more and more people relying on their mobile phones to keep up with emails, the mobile version of the site helps people become more productive.
