Google Maps for Android gets High-Res and refreshed interface

Google Maps for Android 4.0 offers high-resolution tiles and redesigned navigation screen. The new and refreshing updates will definitely encourage users to use Google Maps 6.5.

The fresh new look of Google Maps 6.5 gives users an easier and more comfortable way to navigate with detailed maps (3D buildings). The new updates include more public transportation options such as the bus and subway. It will recommend directions which will have fewer transfers and less walking. This way of navigating will bring the user as fast as possible to the destination.

Harlan Hile, Google software enginair said: “Whether you just need to get somewhere as fast as possible, or you want to avoid the risk of a missed connection or you prefer not to tire your legs, you can get the transit directions that best suit you’’.

The mapping tiles are updated as well in Google Maps 6.5. The high-resolution map tiles will lead for better screens which will make it easier to read the map!

Google Maps is now covering 475 cities around the world including transit directions and schedules. There are three travel modes which the user can choose: walking, public transportation or driving.

According to Google Mobile Blog:

‘’So far, Navigation on Google Maps for Android has provided 50 billion kilometres of turn-by-turn directions, the equivalent of 130,000 trips to the moon, 334 trips to the sun, 10 trips to Neptune or 0.005 light years’’.
