Google Wallet-Make Your Phone Your Wallet

Yesterday, Google gave a demo of Google Wallet, an app that will make your phone your wallet, at its New York City office, along with CitiMastercard, First Data and Sprint. Using your phone and Near Field Communication(NFC), you will be able to tap, pay and save. Google is now testing the product and going to release it soon.

With Google Wallet, you can just go to shop without physical wallet.

In addition, your phone will also automatically redeem offers and earn loyalty points for you when you tap to pay. In the future, maybe boarding passes, tickets, ID and keys could also be stored in Google Wallet.

Isn’t that amazing?

Besides bringing convenience to consumers, Google Wallet also gives merchants more ways to offer coupons and loyalty programs to customers, as well as integration of their online and offline commerce effort.

Both CitiMasterCard and a Google Prepaid Card are supported. Google wallet will also sync your Google Offers such that you will be able to redeem via NFC.

Google plans to develop API that will enable integration with numerous partners and build an open commerce ecosystem with Google wallet.
