Instagram for Android launches ‘Coming Soon’ page

Good news for Android users! Earlier, we have already mentioned that the Android app of Instagram was coming soon. Now Instagram has opened a sort of registration page for Android users.

Instagram is giving Android users the chance to be ‘first in line’ for the app made for Google’s platform. The time has come that Android users no longer need to watch by side lines to see how their iOS friends are having fun with Instagram.

The iOS app of Instagram debuted in October 2010 and after just three months it hit 1 million users! But why it took so long for the Android version? During the South by Southwest conference, the founder of Instagram Kevin Systrom said this about the Instagram Adroid app: ‘’ I don’t think it took us so long. We just had priorities. Had we tried to be both on Android and iPhone at the same time, it would’ve been tough to innovate in the way we have.’’

Don’t get it wrong! The sign-up page is not providing earlier access for users to download. Instagram just want to inform the Android users at the same time of launching the app. So that’s why Instagram is collecting email addresses and will blast with the message once the Android version is available.

This popular photo-sharing app is easy to use and can make different kinds of colour pictures with a bit of professional touch. Currently, already 27 million users are using this app. So I think it will definitely grow when the Android version goes live.

However, this app is still free for downloading and advertisement. Perhaps, it will be changed when Instagram is making a fast improvement? So would you sign-up to be the  ‘first in line’?
