iPad 2 Launches In Singapore Today

The iPad 2 arrived today here in Singapore, a month after the US launch, and is being sold in select Apple Authorised Resellers* and also online in the Apple Store. It was released at 1:00 am.

Here is the list of the suggested retail price for each model:

iPad 2 with WiFi
16GB – $668
32GB – $798
64GB – $928

iPad 2 with WiFi + 3G
16GB – $848
32GB – $978
64GB – $1,108

The iPad 2’s exterior has a different design compared to its predecessor, and is 33% thinner and 15% lighter. Despite these adjustments, it still keeps its 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen. It has the new dual-core A5 processor (making it twice as faster) and has 2 cameras – a VGA in front for FaceTime and Photo Booth, and a rear camera that is able to capture 720p HD video.

Last one… Even with the new features, the iPad 2 can still last up to 10 hours of battery life. SOMEBODY PLEASE GET ME ONE. Thanks.

*These authorized sellers include iStudio, EpiCentre, and Challenger. However by lunch time most of these stores were already sold out since even before their doors opened, a huge crowd was already gathered outside. As for Courts and Best Denki, their queues were shorter and still had stocks even after iStudio and EpiCenter ran out. It took hours for buyers to get their iPad 2 in iStudio and EpiCentre, while it only took 20 minutes for those who bought theirs at Best Denki.
