iPray – iPhone Confession App

It seems like everything is becoming virtually possible now with the rise of various technology combined with creative minds. Little iApps released the first ever Confession, an application for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. You guessed it, Confession does exactly what you needed it to do; it lets you confess. On the 45th World Communications Day, Pope Benedict addressed that, “if used wisely, can contribute to the satisfaction of the desire for meaning, truth and unity which remain the most profound aspirations of each human being.”

Worry not about your confessions being seen by someone else because each user is protected with passwords and also a step-by-step guide to the sacrament, some have found this application to be useful especially after being away from the sacrament for a while. Pope Benedict also added in his general pray in January 2011, “that young people may learn to use modern means of social communication for their personal growth and to better prepare themselves to serve society.”

Although it has been claimed that this application has already brought one man back to sacrament after 20 years, I still feel like the process of confession, praying, and even going to churches should be something we do the non-virtual way. Next thing I know people are just going to get married online and all their friends can attend through iPhone applications and they can call it iWed, oh wait, maybe they do already do that.
