Microsoft announces Surface: New Tablets Running Windows

In Los Angeles, Microsoft has released its own tablet that will run Windows 8. The tablet will be available in two versions: ‘Surface RT’ and ‘’Surface Pro’’.

Microsoft has unveiled its Surface and it is an answer for everyone who is looking for a Windows 8 experience. Microsoft Surface stands out from other offerings with a built-in kickstand that is allowing  users to put their Surface wherever they want and the keyboard is hidden in the ‘Touch Cover’ which is magnetically held in place.

Windows ‘Surface RT tablet’ will have an ‘HD’ display which could indicate a 1366 x 768 resolution, while Windows 8 Surface Pro will have a Full HD display. But there are some similarities such as both tablets are scratch-resistant.

Compared to the iPad, the Surface is just 0.1mm thinner and is slightly more rectangle than the iPad. And the screen size of the Surface models is 0.9inches bigger than the iPad, because the Surface models will be 10.6 inched diagonally while the iPad is 9.7 inches.

The Surface RT model accepts USB 2.0 devices and the Pro version support the newer 3.0.  For other devices such as iPad and Galaxy, there are lack ports for connecting USB devices.
