PayPal Sues Google Over Mobile Payment Secrets

Recently we wrote about Google’s new mobile payment platform and how its going to change the payment eco-system. But right after the launch Pay Pal Inc, is suing Google for misappropriating trade secrets from its mobile payment business.

According to Paypal, Osama Bedier, a former PayPal executive stole PayPal’s confidential information for the use in leading Google’s efforts to bring point of sale technologies and services to retailers. PayPal also claimed that Bedier discussed a job with Google while at the same time leading negotiations to make PayPal a payment option on Google’s Android Market.

Besides, another ex-PayPal executive who is also now at Google, violated contractual obligations by recruiting Bedier. She was under contract not to recruit employees.

Both Google and PayPal are trying to explore about mobile business. Paypal, based in San Jose, California, is working with major retailers to develop a new type of point of sale system.

However, Google spokesman, Aaron Zamost did not make any comment about the news as he said that they have not received a copy of the suit.
