Skype 5.8 for Windows: Get it now!

Hello Windows users, there is good news for you! Skype has released its version 5.8 software update with notable features for Windows. This update includes Full HD video calling, Facebook integration, push to talk and group screen sharing, which will make the communication more efficient and fun!

To support full HD video calling you need a suitable HD camera with fast enough internet connection with at least 2 Mbps upload/download speed to have a good quality. So, make sure you can enjoy the full HD video.

Video calling via Facebook is now possible without Skype and that is cool right? This means there is no barrier between Skype users and non-Skype users. You just need to select your friend on the list and press on ‘video call’, than your full HD video will start.

Group screen sharing was only available for Mac users. Therefore, this update will allowed Windows users to use screen sharing as sharing the entire desktop or one single application.  However, a conference call with other participants is only available with Skype Premium.  If you want to start group screen share during your conversation, you have to choose the ‘menu’ during and select “share my screen’’.

Do you like the Walkie Talkie style conversation? Push to Talk is a new feature which is comparable with Walkie Talkie. Did you know that there are already similar smartphones applications like Talkbox? This feature is requested by multiplayer games users, so gamers don’t have to start and end audio chat during their games. If you want to try this new feature just select under tools-options-advanced>hotkeys.

These are the updates of Skype version 5.8 for Windows users. It is a progress of Skype that Mac users and Windows users both are able to use group screen sharing. So, don’t wait! Go download Skype 5.8 and try the new features!
