Want to turn you iPad into a MacBook Air?

The Kickstarter project is introducing a Mac-like aluminium keyboard called ‘Brydge’ and can connect to the iPad via Bluetooth. This product has a full QWERTY keyboard which will make your iPad look like a MacBook Air though!

Yesterday at the Apple’s second quarter earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook dismissed the MacBook-iPad hybrid device the ‘Brydge’. Tim cook said:

“Anything can be forced to converge, but the problem is that products are about tradeoffs, and you begin to make tradeoffs to the point where what you have left doesn’t please anyone. You can converge a toaster and a refrigerator, but those things are probably not going be pleasing to the user.”

Ipad has a touch screen interface, so in my opinion it seems not necessary to have a track pad and keyboard. However, it can be interesting to have a touch/laptop combo. It will gives you the ability to use the keyboard when you need it. Seems like very easy to adjust or remove. It is a new innovative product so would people buy the ‘Brydge’ to experience it?

There is already a similar product as the ‘Brydge’ on the market named Logitech’s Ultrathin Keyboard for your iPad. However, it looks very stylish, although it doesn’t look like a MacBook Air so would that be a problem for you?

The project Brydge is seeking to raise $90,000 via Kickstarter the crowd-sourced funding site. It seems like it will be sold for $170 without speakers and $210 with speakers. If you pre-order this product, you will get a discount for helping to fund this project.

So what do you think about this MacBook-iPad hybrid device the ‘Brydge’?
